Hello All,

Anyone have any information on this knife?

I checked and the first catalog that shows the model 507 Ultima I is from 1982. The knife has been in and out of the line over the years. I see a Use and Care leaflet in your picture. It may have a printers code in the lower corner that may have a date. That would help nail down the year even closer.
Hope this helps.

Joe,

thanks! Was there/is there something "special" about this knife that would cause Buck to call it "ULTIMA"? the blade? the scales? Do you know what size is the knife? I dont see a "507" in today's catalog so I am wondering how this knife compares size wize to the Prince, Squire, or Knight. Also, do you know what the scales are? Micarta? Buckarta? Pearl? Any idea as to what the knife would cost at retail? thanks again!

I dont have any record of why they picked the name Ultima. Come to think of it, I only know where the names came from on a handful of knives.
Richard is correct, the knife is a 505 Knight with pearl inlays. The 506 is the same knife yet again, only this time with white micarta inlays.
The 505 is a very popular modle and it has been reinvented many times over the years as many diferent models.

I have an knife with a 505T blade (2003?) that is the Ultima 1 (mother of pearl handles) in a box with the end label "Ultima 1 0507-00-0 cat. 249" Has this Ultima 1 had a blade replacement or did it come from the factory with a 505 blade?

Jim, welcome in the Blade Forums.

Tere are two possibilities.

First: Your knife is a rebladed 507 Ultima I
Second: You have a rehandled 505 Knight

The knife on the bottom is rehandled, the upper one is a 507 Ultima I

Best,
Haebbie

I have not figured out how to paste a picture into this, but my 505T looks like the second one from the bottom. Laid side by side with another 507 from my collection, I can not detect any difference other than the number on the blade. I suspect it has been rebladed.
