Buck Vanguard 192 to buy or not to buy?

Hi all,

I'm considering getting a buck vanguard 192BR off Ebay. Is there a possibility of getting a fake?

Anyway, the price range offered on the BIN, looks quite ok with me including shipping to SG. I just need it for short camping trips like 3-5 nights at most.

Any constructive comments are most welcome. thanks!

Is that the one for $53.95 plus $6 shipping??

Looks like a reliable seller and I haven't heard of any fake 192s being sold (although the way things are going, who knows what could happen next).

It looks pretty good to me......I think if I were getting a user I'd go with the grippier rubber handle model.

$6 is for USA only, I'm located in Singapore :)
Anyway, thats one of the listing in consideration.

Why I choose the wooden handle over the rubber grip cuz I felt that it may last longer. IMHO

With e-Bay you have to go by the seller's reputation, so look at them carefully and read the feedback for signs of particular problems. After that it's a crap shoot........e-Bay is like a box of chocolates--you just never know what you're gonna get.

The cautious usually have pretty good success.

As the owner of four 192's I can tell you that they are well made knives. I think a lot of people think the rubber grip is soft but it is not. I also have a 694 which has rubber scales and they are very good. The thickness of the blade on the vanguard is .140.
