Buck Vanguard ATS-34

I posed the same question earlier in the summer, and eventually ordered one. Since I mostly collect knives and only use them to open the next knife package from UPS, I can't comment on the performance. Some complained about the hollow grind on the knife, but I finally was convinced that the hollow grind is not a problem.

I bought one for my Dad 2 X-mas' ago. Best hunting knife he has ever used. We Field Dress and skinned 2 deer the first year with it and never sharpened it. He cleaned and lightly oiled and put up for a year. Next season we field dressed
1 deer and skinned 2 more. By this time we needed a little more edge on it. Love the weight and feel. He wanted the rubber handle for a better grip. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone that wants a good hunting knife.
Downside- sharpening. As with any good blade that has a hard steel, it takes a little more to get that edge you want on it. Well worth it.
