Hello,
I bought a Buck Vanguard long before I knew anything about steels that go into knifemaking. I thought I read in a firearms publication circa ~1990 that the Vanguards were made using a 440c or 440v steel. Has this ever been the case?
My Vanguard is simply marked:
BUCK
692) ")" is more like a backward "C"
U.S.A.
It has a nylon sheath with a single strap and was bought between 1990 and 1995.
What steel is my buck made out of?
