I really like the knife.....I am thinking about getting the rubber handle version. Anybody own one....comments, posative...negative? thanks, John

My primary hunting knife is a Buck Vanguard with the rubberized handle. It is one of the "special run" versions that was made in ATS-34 for Bass Pro Shops.

Love the grip. Love the solid blade guard. It's well balanced and well made.

I didn't like the nylon sheath it came with, so I had a custom Kydex sheath made up for it.

I also have the "Zipper" version of the knife in ATS-34, but I never got all that enthusiastic about the gut hook. Putting it on eBay pretty soon just because I never use the knife.

As for the regular Vanguard with rubber handles though, it's a keeper.

I own 3 Vanguards. I find that the handle works very well with either the rubberish or hard finish handles. The last one that I bought is the special model made for Cabela's with rosewood handle and S30V blade. The Vanguard design is excellent.

That's all the coaxing I needed to go out and spend some more money...The knife will be mine soon! thanks, John
