Buck Vantage Avid question

I just received a buck vantage pro and select. I've notice on the select that the spine of the blade is rounded/smooth. It has a nice feel. On the pro the spine is squared with sharper edges. How is it on the Avid? Is it like the pro or the select?

Thanks!

From what I have seen the Avid has a smoother edge with the Dymondwood. In person most of the Avids I have seen also have more of a "glossy" look. My newer Pro has the "sharper" edge as well, so it seems to be something with the G10.

regular versions.

Also, does anyone know if you can take the s30v blade and put it in the paperstone handle? are the switchable?

Yes they are, but use caution as this will VOID the warranty. I have a S30V pro model blade on a Dymondwood handle from the select model at Wally World.

I actually did not switch the blade as I switched the handle "slabs".

ok thanks. how does the dymondwood handle compare the paperstone and g10?

The diamond wood is nice in my opinion. I swapped out the scales and blades on several of my vantages. I have a pro with 13c26 steel blade, and avid diamond wood with s30v blade and I had a set of carbon fiber scales made for a pro. This knife is versatile and what you dont like about one you can change with another.

It has the similar feel to G10 in that it has that smooth synthetic feel but has the natural wood look. The paperstone feel more like contruction paper and so has a bit more grip to it. I love the look overall and sad to say, but I liked the lighter texture of the walmart versions.
