Nice, I'd like to reduce the liner lock on the other side of one, I'm left-handed, and it sticks up just enough to cause me problems thumbing open the blade with the hole.

if you look through the hole in the blade you can see the liner. use a sharp pencil to mark the part of the liner covering the blade's hole. then grind that small notch. i doubt a tiny notch would compromise the locks strength.

What I like about it is you took a nice knife and modified it to fit you. That's something I rarely do with a production knife (though I have done it with a couple of fixed blades). I don;t do it because of a "fear" maybe...no, fear is no good...a "timidness" about modifying something that I paid a good deal of money for. I accept it as is, usually. That's something I should strive to overcome.

It's commendable. Good job!

Very nice. The great thing with the Vantage Pro is that it is a good quality knife, but at only $50, one can be courageous about modding it. I've posted these pics before, but I modded mine because I did not like the look of the flipper. I removed the blade, used my Dremel to cut off the flipper, then filed and sanded it. Who knows, modding a stock production knife could be your first step towards becoming a knifemaker!

Found a much easier solution last night, put a small zip tie on the blade at the top of the thumbhole and made a thumb "stud".

Not original idea, but it works like a charm! :)

thanks man. most of my knife fixing/modding experience is with the blades, i very rarely do any modding to handles. i figured, "what the hell, it's a $50 knife and im going to enjoy it alot more afterwards".

:thumbup: lefty here too, that's the only complaint I have with the Vantage Pro.
