I have some $$$ burning a hole in my pocket. I'm looking at buying my first S30V knife with a G10 handle. I've narrowed the choices down to the new Buck Vantage Pro and the Benchmade Mini Dejavoo.

To be honest, I really like the price of the Buck. However the Benchmade has a slightly better feel in my hand. Is the feel worth the extra $$$??? I'm not sure.

As for as the S30V goes, what's the difference between the heat treating on the Benchmade and the Bos heat treating on the Buck?

Thanks for the help.

I'd pony up the extra $$$ for the Dejavoo. I've heard some not so good things about the Buck such as plastic washers and problems with the lock up.

I don't know the Benchmade, but I just got a Vantage Pro S30V a couple of days ago and I've been very pleased. It does have plastic washers, but the lockup on mine is completely solid. It's a very nice knife for the price.

I have a Mini Dejavoo. I use it in the kitchen quite a bit because the blade geometry is good to prep veggies and what ever else is in the menu. The handle very comfortable even for long and repetitive tasks.

Bottom line: No regrets getting it. It gets alot of edc use. Also fits nicely in my back pocket.

The benchmade gets my vote.

Well, my Buck Vantage Pro arrived today. At less than half the price of the Mini Dejavoo, this is one sweet knife! I couldn't be happier with my decision.

I purchased two Buck Vantages. One is pretty good but has blade play due to the pivot/washer set-up. The other one started with the lock 3/4 of the way across the blade and within a month it moved the rest of the way across. Won't go in to more detail than that but I will say that the last two knives I bought were Benchmades and they see more pocket time than anything else I have.
