Any info would be appreciated as I am keen to buy one, looks great but would like input from someone who has one.

Best value and quality for a S30V blade handsdown!

I love mine! Its the perfect size, weight, and after all it is a BUCK :D Lifetime warranty and all. Mine is really smooth on opening and the handle is very well designed. The Tempest and rush used to be my EDC knives, but now the Vantage is!

There is a few other threads on BF about the Vantage, I will try to copy and paste them here for you. Try it I think you will be impressed!

Kick,
Just what Posfallls says. Ive been extremely pleased with the pro. My biggest concern was sharpening. I use crock sticks and was afraid that with the hardness of s30v I wouldnt be able to put a good edge on it. I tried the other day for the 1st time and found that a few strokes on each side and it shaves arm hair nicely again. I guess the key is not letting it get too dull(which is probably good advise on any steel-duh ha:p) You'll love it.

I think it,'s the best value around right now. The s30v is heat treated by Paul Bos so its better than most other manufacturers. I think you will be pleased with it.

My wife gave me a Vantage Pro for a gift a while back (now that's a woman that knows how to shop). I used my DMT aligner kit to drop the edge angle a bit lower than the factory angle and then stropped it up to a nice shine. Since then its entered my EDC rotation and I've been using it to cut cardboard, plastic, whittle wood, etc... and I've been extremely impressed with Buck's S30V blade. Takes a great edge and stays sharp for a long time, and it only takes a few minutes on the sharpmaker to get it back shaving again. If I had the money I'd get another just to have a backup! I don't know if its just the nature of S30V steel or the Paul Bos heat-treat that does it, but for me it beats VG-10, 154CM, 13C26, and all the others in my rotation - plus the shape of the blade works really well for what I need.

It also feels good in the hand, the contoured G-10 scales are really nice and still grippy even though they're smoothed. Mine has an excellent lockup (although I've heard there have been some issues there, but Buck's warranty is second to none) and I personally appreciate that fact that the lockbar is not jimped - it can't bite my index finger under hard use like some of my other linerlocks. The only thing I'd change on this knive is to add a lanyard hole.

Now that I'm thinking about it, the Vantage Pro is probably my favorite lock-blade knife (and I have several really nice Bucks, Spydercos, Kershaws, and Byrds).

Outstanding knife. Not only is it my favorite Buck it had almost knocked all others out of my EDC lineup.

Very comfortable in hand, nice and easy to open and close.
A nice solid feeling weight in the handle that many new knives don't have.

I have the large Select and for now it is my favorite carry.I have never carried larger than a 3 inch blade but this one feels great. Also love the flipper. My next will be the Pro.I think the Avid looks the best but the scales are vert smooth and I think when wet will be to slippery. Thanks for your time.
