Buck vantage too big?

I want to get one of the buck vantage knives, but I wanted to know how the larger vantage knife fits in the pocket? Does it ride well or does it take up the entire pocket? thanks

Depends on how big your pockets are...:D

In all seriousness though, the handle is kinda thick, but not more so than something like a full size griptilian or bone collector. How big is too big is up to you. I wouldn't say its a big knife, but its not small either...

They do have low ride pocket clips on them that make them sit very nice in the pocket. Feels thinner in the pocket than my PM2, but only by a little bit.

Rides very well.

I have one in my pocket as I read your post.

The small version is perhaps too small, which is why I only have one of those and a lot of the regular Vantage.

I have the avid version. It's gorgeous but I would fault it on being slightly off centered (a common problem that many, but not all, vantages have). Also the flipper is too small, it doesn't flip open easiliy even after adjusting the pivot, which can't be adjusted much due to centering issues.

That said it's a beautiful knife, and in my opinion the perfect size for EDC. Great blade length and shape, a great slicer, and good rounded handles for extended cutting (not "tactical" though).

IMHO - not too big at all. Great knife.

Only thing I did was sand down the G 10 handle edges. (Vantage Pro)
They tended to dig at my hand when reaching into the pocket sometimes.

But other than that, carries great. Stays sharp forever too. Get One ! :D

It rides very low in the pocket (nothing is lower), and I regard it as more or less "smallish". You can forget that its in your pocket, which is optimal.

+plus 1.
Other than that it is a nice knife.

I found it to be more of a medium sized knife, the only qualm I had about it was that it wasn't very lefty friendly and the bottom corner seemed to catch on the lip of my pocket when I drew it for a wave motion.

Great knife, I just sold mine but I thoroughly recommend them. In fact that was why I sold it, my co worker was carrying a pretty crappy CRKT and I thought he should have something nicer. Carries well in the pocket thanks to the clip.

I carry mine frequently and do not consider it a "big knife". YMMV.
