Hey guys I've been carrying my buck vantage select for about a year now as my edc and love it. But recently the bronze washers have been giving me a hard time. This knife was super smooth opening up until a couple of weeks ago. Now it's been rough opening like steel on steel and is not openable without flicking my wrist pretty hard. It's manageable on the first open but after a couple of open/ closes in a row it seizes up and won't open unless I flick it as hard as I possible can. I've tried wd 40 to loosen it up and it barely was a noticeable difference.

Has anyone else had this problem with their bronze washers from buck?

WD-40 is not exactly a good choice for long term lube on a knife. There are much better choices out there. A little goes a long way and doesn't end up catching all the lint and dirt in your pockets when used sparingly.

Yeah, mine ended up pretty stiff too. That was the least of my problems though.

Speaking of Buck Vantage washers, is it possible to upgrade to larger washers in these knives? The stock ones look pretty tiny, and it looks larger like washers might be helpful in reducing any sideplay in the blade..

Schuey2002 that's what I was thinking too. In my other knives the larger/ thicker washers seemed to be smoother. The only problem would be the lock bar is pretty close to the pivot.
