Today I decided to get to a long put off "tidy up" of an unfinished storage area next to my office in my house. As a knife accumulator from way back, I can verify the boxes do pile up. When I walked by my "putter around" table in the office and saw my old 2009 Vantage Avid in 13C26 just laying there among some other knives also currently lacking favor, I decided today was the day. I haven't had this knife in my pocket for years likely because its always been a unwilling flipper and I've migrated that way. So, I grabbed it and checked, yes it was still quite sharp and headed in to fill a 35gal Rubbermaid trash can up with cardboard for recycle pickup in the morning.

Well the knife's hollow ground sharp edge made short work of it and I was reminded of how well the handle fit in my hand. I was also reminded this old knife was quite the cutter. I had forgotten its fine design and smooth handling. It is a heck of a pocket carry knife.

The point of this little story is that if you've not pulled out one of your Vantages in a while, do so; and you'll probably end up carrying it around for a bit. It is a fine knife with good steel and ergonomics and a pleasure to use in your daily cutting tasks. gw

PS: Please feel free to show off your favorite Vantages!!

You can't go wrong with the Vantage. A knife you can open and close with one hand is always a plus.

As a long-time Luddite (Traditionalist being the politer word) I came very late to modern knives. Tried a few (Buck and non-Buck) but never really liked them. Makael gifted me with a Paperstone Vantage several years ago, it ended up being THE modern knife for me. I own four now, two with HC420 blades that I use most of the time, a S30V that stays in my coffee table cigar box for handy use, and a recently acquired Vantage Forge. I certainly agree with you gents, just a great knife. OH
