I'm not sure how cutting pressure would be put on the liner lock. Spine pressure would be transferred to the liner lock but edge pressure is going to go to the pin.
I don't see how it would be less strong to transfer the force to a pin that runs in a slot in the tang or if the tang hits the stop pin on the outside. In both, the blade is making contact with a pin that has both ends anchored in the liners. I think the stop pin should be just fine.
I'm sure, for all intents and purposes, that this style blade stop is just as strong as the other two styles. Usually on whatever style you have, the blade tip will snap before the pivot if you're prying or something.
