Those Buck 110's on eBay, you know the ones, with the 'custom mica' inserts with spider webs and black widows and whatnot. Do they still have the Buck warranty, or does the after market customization void the warranty??

I ask because I have one with alot of slop in the lockup (blade wiggles), and would like to send it in.

Buck does not cover the knives that have been mooded. Normally, the "worker" will cover thge work if they are any good. Most sellers will advertise the fact that Buck will not warrenty any Buck that has been mooded. If you buy a Buck that has been mooded, assume all responscability for the knife. There are some good mods, and there are some bad mods, so be carefull.

Joe Houser has told me the reason Buck will not cover these modifications is due to concern that the modified handle scales may be accidentally damaged while doing any repairs, and Buck obviously has no way to repair that. Sounds reasonable to me.

Unless they have changed their listings in the last few months, both digital_freaks and deadwoodknives were advertising theirs as having a full lifetime warranty.

When I asked them both from who, they both falsely claimed Buck would warranty them.

I decided not to buy from either seller.

Yeah...there was a thead some time back where Joe (@ Buck) was pretty firm on this. Don't blame him.

Hey, TLC, love that signature...I had a t-shirt that said "ATF all make fine gifts" ;)

Any after market customs you buy from or made by Michael Prater, he will warranty them. But he does not make "users". :D :D

Thats true....modified with a new inlay, or turned into an auto, we cant warranty that. We cant gaurantee the work since we did not do it.

I'm bummed! I bought one of the Recluse spider knives from digital freaks since they said it was warrantied. I foolishly thought that they may have ordered them like that from Buck.

I'll never buy from them again! Would have been fine with it if they had been honest about it.

No issue for me with Buck. I totally understand their position.

i think if Bucks leagel dept would call ebay on each one that ebay would make theim correct their wording....
that is why when i do a rubber bucky i tell folks it is not under bucks warrenty..

understandable Joe, I am just curious as I have seen a lot of buck 110's on the bay and was wondering if they would be a fake numbered series if the inlays have been altered.
