Hey im curious of how long it usually takes bucks warranty department to reply. I wrote them an email maybe 3 days ago about a buck solo that came with bad centering and a hairline crack in the shield. Then when using it cutting packing straps the tip of the blade bent, steel was extremely soft although i dont blame buck i know they make great knives this was a buck solo so bottom of the barrel as far as bucks go. I did include that i wanted to see if they could do anything that doesnt involve me shipping the knife due to the price of shipping vs price of knife, i think its 6-8$ to ship and the knife is 12. Or maybe could reccomend a cheaper shipping method. i know i get knives from ebay and the package says 2.25$ paid shipping if anyone knows where to get it that cheap i wouldnt mind sending the knife then. I couldnt blame buck if theres nothing they could do i just wanted to see, better to be told no than not to try at all. Anyone have any advice on getting up with them? I dont really like talking on the phone i have bad social anxiety but if i have to i will. If pictures are needed for any reason i can post them.

You have to send ur knife into the shop to get fix and if its unfixable they will replace it.

Welcome to the forum. It might be best to give them a call or have someone call them for you. Shipping by USPS cheapest method should only be a couple dollars. Good luck.

Okay thanks guys i will swing by the post office tommorow and see i think i did find the bubble mailer mailing for 2 dollars and something. im guessing turn around time is around 2 weeks? Also whats everyones experience with 420j2 if anyone does have experience. I have about 8 buck knives with 420j2 most are gift tin knives though that i dont use so the small solo is the only one i have experienced. The blade steel seemed way to soft to be used as a knife at all, i mean it bent with just slight pressure on a packing strap. Was it just a bad heat treat or is the steel really that soft? i know its used on alot of dive knives so maybe ill throw it in a fishing box and just not worry about returning it. Or maybe i will pay the difference and get a 420hc honeybone.

I answer the Warranty e-mails and I did not work last Friday. Still getting through them today as Monday is our busiest day for e-mails, so you will hear from me soon. Anything that is sent to Warranty@buckknives.com comes directly to me. Anything sent Sat or Sun will be answered Monday.

You can get USPS 1st class under 13 oz pretty cheap at the post office.

We highly recommend not puttiing knives in padded mailers and they do not survive well. Wally world sells boxes for about 50 cents that work for small folders.
