hello everybody,

I have a short question regard to buck's famous warranty service. Say I have a discounted knife alpha hunter 276, its blade has a lot scratches. I try to polish it new but the blade was coated in black, polishing would simply ruin it.
MY question is: Can I get a same blade replacement, instead of a latest 2017 blade, from buck?
Thank you all!

here is the photo of my 276. anyone knows how to renew the blade?

Cosmetic issues are not a warranty issue. Buck does some blade replacement for a fee if they have it. Your blade is Titanium nitride coated and the coating is not renewable. The only way to keep a blade looking unused is to not use it. The only way to find out if they will replace the blade with a new one is to make a call and ask. As these particular blades are exclusive to Cabela's I kinda doubt it.

Would be a 2016 replacement I would imagine as well.

golden_dragon hello
I would wait on ditching the Cabela's blade, The Bass Pro Shop buy-out is moving right along and soon -NO CABELA'S.

Moving sideways here from the original question but..... I thought the Cabela's brand was being retained. Just an ownership change.

I just now Googled the merger and things are not for certain, the Federal Trade Commission is reviewing... Gander Mountain is possibly in trouble and that changes the competitive market.

Between its own declining fortunes, an inability to unload its credit business, a weakening market for its merchandise, and yet another competitor that may declare bankruptcy, Cabela's acquisition by Bass Pro Shops is looking dimmer by the day.

I just get feedbacks from buck. They are able to replace a new blade(of course they do) but didn't mention whether I can have the original blade. So I asked again.
I'll update any new information later.

The blade is s30v coated in titanium nitride to add protection. I would call to find out what Buck has to say or email Jeff Hubbard at, JHubbard@buckknives.com. Buck Phone is 1-800-326 - 2825. Jeff is on this forum time to time and is a very helpful and understanding person.

From cabela's the alpha like you have new is $139.99. The rubber handled with gut hook and part serrated blabe and s30v and tittanium nitride is $99.99

Thanks all. I've been updated from buck, they would put a Same blade on but with a latest year code. charge is $10, I wonder how I could pay them.

regards,

I would bet, send a check in with the knife, or call in a credit card number...but call again and be sure. That's a great deal for S30V. Preston

That is a fantastic deal. As Preston said call again and make sure they understand the blade type. Fill out a warranty form that you print from the website. You can pay by credit card over the phone or like Preston said just tape a check to the warranty form with the knife. When you send make sure the blade is covered and put it in a box so the blade doesn't puncture through. I usually use a tube from paper towels for bigger blades and tape it good. Stuff old newspaper in the box and shake it to make sure there isn't any movement. Take it to USPS and then wait. Buck is really good
