I have a question for you guys. I moved a few years ago and I just unpacked the last box from my barn, and I found my old 112. It was in a plastic rubbermaid box, and to my horror, there was a large hole in the box. So for the last 3 years my old 112 has been getting completely submerged in water (the barn leaks:() and frozen every winter.
So... would Buck replace my knife?

They might try and clean it up for you it possible but nothing you describe would be considered a material or workmanship defect so I don't know why Buck would be expected to replace it under warranty?

THE BUCK FOREVER WARRANTY

The Buck Knives Forever Warranty is pretty much what it says. A Buck Knife is built to last. But if for some reason, your Buck is defective due to materials or workmanship, you can return it to us for repair. No matter where you bought it.

Welcome, 94. How old is your 112? Whats the stamping? If its from the last 20yrs. just get a new one. If from 30yrs. or older and the blade is in good shape and has sentimental value, I'd have the wood slabs replaced (65$). However, you'd be suprised how much they can endure. Clean it up and post a photo of it. DM

Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!! And a full story.

You have just entered the ranks of those who test and review Buck knives.

Congratulations!

Sorry not replying sooner, I was camping with the family. because of being submerged and frozen, the wood was warped and is starting to come off on one side. The blade is so loose that I can open the blade by flicking my wrist, and there is a lot of blade play in all directions. I will try to post some pictures after I find the camera

Yeah, I have to ask the same as DM, how old is it. Buck cant be held for external damage although they are very liberal in thier excercise of warranty. If it us 3 dot or prior, have it repaired, at your own expense. If after that, just buy a new one or pick one up on the bay.

Wheter or not they would do a repair for FREE is not the question to me. Buck offers a very inexpensive product that is high quality and MADE IN THE USA by workers that are not making 25 cents a day in China, so why make them use the time of a worker to fix for free a knife you have not looked at for three years and left in a leaking garage for that time? Lets help an American company that has a great warranty stay in business not help their over head costs go up with this type of BS.....

Wow! thats an ender.

I'm not trying to get on your case, but don't feel Bucks warranty should have to cover neglect.A new 112 is not going to break the bank either,Bucks prices are very reasonable. That said, sorry about your 112.
