I am curious as to when the Buck Workman Contractor knife model # 812BK was offered. I recently purchased one at a local hardware store and the package appears to be pretty old ( yellowed with age blister pack.) The pack card has no year of manufacture that I can find. Does the Work-man division of Buck Knives still exist? If not , can you tell me when production stopped. Thanks for your help! This is just the most recent of my numerous purchases of Buck products over the years. You guys are The Best!!
 
Thanks for the info Jake. This knife is still in the blister pack and I cannot access the date. I may be weird, but some of my knives have never even been out of the package, so maybe someone will have some general info on this series from Buck. Thanks again!
 
Hello,
The 812 was offered off and on from 1988 to 1996. There were about 6000 or so made during that time. The Work Man line of knives has been discontinued for several years now. I hope this helps.
 
Hi Joe, Thanks for the awesome info! That is exactly what I was looking for. I try to be as educated about the knives in my collection as possible, and I appreciate your time in educating me! Another reason why Buck Knives are simply The Best!
