I went to a local sporting goods store today and I got to handle the new LED version of the Buck X-tract. I couldn't convince myself to buy it but I found some nice photos on ebay (I hope the seller doesn't mind me sharing them with you).
I didn't have other LED lights available for direct comparison but the LED on the X-tract seemed brighter than the LED on the Victorinox Spartan Lite that I often carry at night. I'd say it's about as bright as the Victorinox microlight which was manufactured in collaboration with Inova.
But adding an LED doesn't compensate for its shortcomings. The pliers are rather small.
And it's a bit bulky for pocket carry. It does come with a sheath (first photo) but it's a little too flashy for my tastes. The sheath that I saw looked a bit different than the one in the ebay photos.
The multi-tool and the sheath are both made in China. This doesn't bother me but it may matter to some of you.
In another topic, a forum member recommended carrying a microlight and a multi-tool rather than a multi-tool with an integrated light. I think that's pretty good advice.
