hey guys im looking at the Buck X-Tract Multi Tool on www.reliks.com and it looks pretty awesome but i wanna know what you guys think or if i should get a better x-tract like the one with scissors or the one with a LED flashlight.

I forgot all about that thing. I used to carry one about 3 or 4 years ago at work. It was okay. If you want my honest opinion I'd spend a little more money and go with a traditional multi-tool. I bought a Swisstool Spirit and have never looked back. Its not much bigger than the X-Tract (its actually thinner albeit longer) but you get more capabilities and way stronger pliers. I do understand however if you still want the X-Tract as it is pretty unique and maybe thats why I bought one originally. Keep in mind though that eventually you will realize that a traditional multi-tool is stronger and more practical.

I've owned one of the x-tracts as well. I actually really liked it a lot. Like jonnyt16 said you can get an equal valued leatherman or something which could be better, but it really depends. The things I liked about the xtract: 1. that the blade is a full size, and flicks open very smoothly actually. 2. You can get a full hand, comfortable grip on any of the tools. This is where it beats any leatherman. better than a SAK but not by a ton or anything. 3. And if you get it with the light you technically wouldn't need any other knives to carry on you. It'd have a full size blade, scissors/light, pliers, and screwdrivers.

But the reason I didn't like mine and that i got rid of it was that it was too big, and since I enjoy carrying a singlebladed knife on me I went with a smaller multitool. The leatherman style ps has been PERFECT for me

Also have the X-Tract with scissors. Great knife IMHO, everything works to open and close with one hand (very handy). Well made, has held up well IMHO.

+1 Agree on all points.

I've tried several of the X-Tracts and for me the scissors model is the most useful by far.

For basic light utility chores around the house, it gets more use than anything else.

I wouldn't call it "awesome" but it is extremely handy.
