I love my x-tract but the pliers make me feel ill prepared. Do any of you feel like that? I feel like the pliers aren't really good for anything. I love the blade and the screw drivers (theyre too big for some screws though). I love how you can have the sheath horizontal on your belt. My swisstool makes me feel a bit better with the pliers and tools, and my swisschamp lacks in the robust pliers dept. but has everything else covered.

Yeah, i normally carry a Victorinox Swisstool, but i like the xtract. The pliers are just awkward and, i wouldn't say useless, but limited.

I love that Buck is making a knife based MT. I'd definately go for the model without pliers though. I'm glad to see more manufacturers coming up with original SAK alternatives that aren't just knock-offs.

Yeah, I think the pliers on the Extract are about worthless. The tool itself is not bad at all, but the main reason I carry a multi-tool and not a SAK is for the pliers, and the fact that multi-tools are generally more rugged.

I have one with the scissors.
Haven't handled the pliers one, but based on the construction of mine I can imagine the pliers don't insire much confidence.

It's not what I would call a "robust" MT, but it is handy. I find myself picking it up frequently for basic little tasks around the home.
Blade and scissors are decent, quick to deploy.
I particulary like the quick slide out for the phillips and standard drivers...again quick to deploy. While not heavy duty, you can get them out quickly for light tasks.

Certainly not going to replace a Leatherman or Vic, but a decent little item for the price.
