I just bought a Buck 422 hoping it will ride a little better in the pocket than the 112 with square bolsters. Does anyone use one of these? How do they hold up? Are they as strong as the reg. 112?

Thanks,
John

It's the same blade design as the 112, and will be 425M or 420 HC steel depending on the year of manufacture. I think they were made from 1984 to 1995. I've never heard of someone breaking that Valox thermoplastic frame or breaking the blade loose(but I'm sure Buck has had 1 returned for one of those reasons). I think they are as durable as a 112, but quite light.
