I ordered a 1988 Green Bucklite on ebay. After I received it, I noticed that the blade had been reprofiled and was too short. It wasn't obvious from the ebay pictures. The seller agreed to have me return it, but I asked for a $17 refund and sent it in to Buck for reblading. About six weeks later, I received it. Now I have a 1988 Green Bucklite with a 2024 112 blade on it.

Buck in the past has refused to reblade 422's and other plastic handles because it's easy to damage or crack them. I'm really surprised they did! Definitely got a odd one Sir ..
I wonder if I had sent in the Gen I 422 without the pivot washer, if they would have made it into a Gen II, with the pivot washer. Also, the handle seems in very good shape relative to the blade, so perhaps that's why they allowed the reblade.

I know Joe Houser and Leroy personally would try..and have no guarantee. But never the official Buck Spa.. I would have been really tempted to ask for or even supply a drop point blade.

Dang, I didn't even think of that.

Drop point 112's of any flavor are a personal favorite of mine.. Mostly because they are scarce. I have never seen a Damascus DP blade.

I like drop points too. A lot of the customs I had made are with drop points. What do you think of the weird drop point that Midway is selling.

Well.. I consider that more like a Spear point. Which I consider the strongest most useful blade profile.
