I have two Bucklites from 2000 and one from 1990.....What are the blade steels on these? Thanks in advance.

The one from 1990 is 425M... and that steel is not very good.. because I have the same buck lite and it's hard to get an extremely keen edge on it, and when if finally does take a keen edge it loses it quickly.
I like 420HC much, much, much more.. which is what you have on your 2000 model.

Scotty, A 1993 model could be either 420HC or 425M steel . AS Buck switched in 92 and some could have still been around in 93 . Most likely its 420 . I've gotten good edge retention with 425M steel and like it . I sharpen it more coarse 100-300 grit and strop to remove burrs . This edge cuts real nice . I'd do the 420 steel in like manner . Those steels seem to take a more coarse edge better . DM
