Does anyone own one of these? Seems like a great value, but I'm wondering if anyone has field use experience with one. I was considering getting a Mora until I stumbled on these. This would primarily be used as a bushcraft/camp knife.

Fish, I dont have any experience with them and personally dont think they look real good but I know some of the guys on here have knowledge so hopefully they'll come along and comment(this was just a bump to get it back to the top) Come on fellas help this gent out.

Don't own one either. Some talk over on the General forum about this knife. Bear says he's getting one when the hunter's orange handles come out. Wish I could help.

Thanks for the input guys. I did see those threads on the main board. I'd like to know when the orange handle is coming out, as I'd prefer it over black.

On a side note, I emailed Buck and asked if the 420HC was Bos heat treated. Below is there response.

"All steel types are heat treated using Paul Bos’s formula.

Depending on the steel type the proprietary formula will be different to get the most out of that steel type.

420 is not stamped ‘Bos’ because it is the standard steel, when you get into higher quality steel, more of a specialty that is when the Bos stamping will occur."

I like the Bucklite Max (mod.729) so much , I am thinking of buying another one . For under $40 , it's the best blade I've seen . Buck just keeps blowing me away with great knives at great value. My Gerber XDP just turned into my " beater " knife !!
