BuckLite Max II Large Guthook Hunting Knife USA 685BKG

Hollow point, welcome to the Buck forum. I don't think many have used that model.
It looks like it should work well. I have used a few gut hooks and as long as the opening is large, they work. Can you post a picture of your model? DM

Opinions on Buck Knives BuckLite Max II Large Guthook Fixed Blade Hunting Knife USA 685BKG?

I gave one to a coworker while back as a gift, who's a rabid deer hunter. it is either that one or the last version before that one...I can't remember the details, but basically the same knife and size. I asked him today about it..... he likes it but said the gut hook gets in the way a bit on certain cutting tasks. i asked him if it was deal killer and made him leave it at home, he said no he makes it work okay for him.

Thanks David...I'll be honest, I have tried to upload a picture but it will not let.

Yes sir, that is it. I already own (2) Buck 191 Zippers. One of the rubber handle models, and one of the Dymondwood handles. I have found a BuckLite Max II Large Guthook USA 685BKG online at a cheap price, but I am wondering if the saying "You get what you pay for" is good or bad in this purchase. The price for the Buck 191 Zippers has really increased to a high price over the last 10 years, I wish I would have bought each of my sons one at that point, but didn't. I may purchase 2 of these knives for both of them so they have their own skinning knife...

While I don't have the gut hook version I did purchase 2 of the small and 2 of the large. They are excellent knives and punch above their weight, so to speak, when it comes to price point. I'll definitely be grabbing more. One for each rifle/shotgun case, toolbox, etc.
