Yesterday I went into a pawnshop and saw a Buckmaster in the display case. I couldn't tell for certain but the handle looked like it was black. I asked to see the knife and about 10 minutes later somebody finally came over to show it to me. Sure enough, the handle was black. The sheath didn't have the pouches on it but for $80, I wasn't going to complain. I pulled the knife out of the sheath and someone had taken a sander or something to the blade and taken off all the black coating. The swirl marks looked pretty fresh too. I was seriously bummed as I handed the knife back to the clerk and left the store.
