I just got a new cutlery catalog from Cabelas and it has two pages of Bucks in it. No 110's, 112's or fixed blades, but it appears like they have reintroduced the "Classic" (two of them anyway) with the scrolled aluminum handles with a place for engraving.

OOPs! I just found the rest of the Bucks! Four more pages of them, all shapes and sizes.:foot:

Just got home and found the same catalog in my mail box. The General is on sale and a good price, but most of the rest is not cheap.....

:) You got that right. I'd love to have the Alaskan guide 110 in Desert Ironwood, but not at that price. Seems like that's about what I paid for the one in stag.

Plumberdv you are right about the price. I whent to my local Cabelas to look at that style of knife, my wife was with me at the time and asked if I wanted it. I told her I needed to think about it. Then went upstairs to see what they had in the bargin cave. Found a 110 white tail deer cutout with iorn wood handels for a very reasonable price, no sheath, box or papers though. Still a very nice knife. HL

the "bargin cave" on line has had some great deals, but many of their everyday prices leave alot to be desired....

Did anyone notice the AG filet knife in S30V and rosewood handles?
I was wondering if Buck made that too.

Doesn't Buck make all of the Alaskan Guide series knives?

Comparing the AG fillet in S30V @ $134.99 to Buck's Silver Creek fillet knife @ $24.99 – $29.99, I'd take the AG with S30V to the SC's 420J2 steel.

The price may be an issue for someone who wants it in a collection, but for a chef or fisherman who uses a fillet knife frequently, the extra price is worth it, I would think. There aren't many good S30V knives for under $100. Most are in the $200-$300 range.

P.S. Buck does have a few nice S30V knives under $100. and several in the $100. - $200. range, but then Buck has some of the most reasonably priced S30V knives on the market.

Well my wife's family likes to exchange Christmas presents so I put out the word "Gordo want's Cabelas Gift Certificates." I figure I can always get another AG110 or two or three :):)
