I've been carrying my Duke in several different sheaths since July and this week started porting it in the early sheath from the 2 dot era . This sheath rides lower on the hip and has a scalloped top allowing easier/quicker deployment . I've settled on this style sheath to carry my 500 . I don't remember who said it a while back but others like this style sheath as well . DM

I wish i had one of those for my Duke as well,I only carry those sheaths anytime i'm packing a 110 ,I love the way they fit a 110 with the scalloped part so you can get it out quick, very easy with gloves on.I nicknamed thrm the "lowrider"sheaths,i don't actually know a real name for them, but they are a well built leather sheath and great to carry.

Does it also have a wider belt strap on the back of rthe sheath?I like that the best,no flopping around with those sheaths the knife carries very well.

Pics please?

I think I have three 500 sheaths-late 80's, 2002 and the one they sent with my giraffe bone 532 but I would have to dig em out to see if there is any difference in design. IIRC the 532 is brown but not sure.

Talking about old sheaths David,I still have the sheath to my old no dot 110 that I used for over 25 years. Thanks to your keen eyes now I have another no dot 110 to go in that sheath.Someday in the future I'm gonna send her to Buck to make her pretty again.

I dig the sheath that my 3 dot 110 came with. It rides really low, and me being a gentleman thats in the "upper percentile of the body weight range" its a lot more comfortable than the standard sheaths they use now. In fact I use it with all my 110s I need to get a few more of them as this one is getting worn.

I took a picture of the one Im talking about compared to a standard sheath maybe its the same one.

I know what Dave's talkin' about.

I like it, too. :)

Crockus & Razor, Yes, thats the one ! Notice; the three features, 1) wider belt loop, 2) positioned so it rides lower, 3) then with the scalloped top it allows better access for fingers to get a good hold on it for deployment . I've tried several different sheaths over the years and have settled on this style . I really like it and it suits me the best . Skyhorse, glad your going to get things fixed back like they were . Your no dot 110 should have this sheath . Those no dot models run 50-75$ in real good shape and if box and paperwork more . So, worth putting some money into one if you were able to get it at a good buy . Thanks guys and nice photos . DM

Forgive me for asking a silly question, but will a 110 fit in the 500 sheath from that vintage? Im gonna have to try and pick some up if so.

No, a 112 will fit nicely in the sheath I pictured above, but a 110 is too big.

You probably have to get into the 1967-68-69 knives to get a sheath like that for the 110 and even then they weren't all like that so they're hard to find.

Again.....e-Bay. Sometimes with careful buying and bidding you can get an old knife with a sheath like that and then resell the knife alone and get your money back. Make sure to see a pic of the open sheath though, so you're sure what you're getting.

Yes, I agree . However, I got mine from George Stenzel who is a notable figure among collectors, espically 110 collectors . He told me they are rare for a 500 ( which mine is stamped) and that a lot of 2 dot 110's came with this style sheath . Perhaps Buck was depleting their supply but all of the 3 line not dot 110's came with this sheath as Skyhorse mentioned . DM

Im just glad my 3 dot 110 came with this sheath. Its the only one I use with my 110s.

BTW, if anybody has interest in that sheath I pictured, it's a spare.

Might trade it for something.
