I just received the 560 that I sent in to have re-bladed with a BG-42 edition. It took less than 3 weeks from the time I sent it until it was returned. YOU GUYS ARE UNBELIEVABLE! This is the fifth knife that I have sent in for re-blading/refurbishing this year. Always the same fast service and quality workmanship. BUCK....Good Knives made by Good People. Racer Roy :D

Jake, I have a One Armed Bandit on one that I had re-bladed earlier and it works great. I also live in Illinois and am Class of '68 (Tet).

Hey Roy, ya got that new Buck, eh? You know my mailing address; use it. ;)

Question for Jake Evans and racer roy: When you served in Vietnam, was the Buck 110 a common site on GI's belts? I've heard some say they were pretty popular, and others say they were few and far between. Don't know why, but I'm curious.

And, by the way, THANKS for your service! :)

There were two guys besides me in our team that carried 110s, most of the others had Kabars or those junk Air Force survival knives. I prefered the 110, it took a better edge and it was a more convient size. The leather sheath did go to hell quick though, so it lived in my back pocket.

It's rather hard to see what kind of knife a fellow has in his pocket, but I did see a lot more Bucks than Randells on guys belts. Quality folders (like Bucks) didn't last long in the PX and most of them got snapped up before the field grunts made it back into base camp. I was a medic and always carried bandage scissors, a folding stainless straight razor with changeable blades (which I still have - no it's not for sale), and a 3" lockback folder of Japanese manufacture. I couldn't get a Buck. I used that knife dozens of times each day, but it popped out of my pocket at a bad time during Tet, and I decided that it was easier to get a new knife than a new ass. I rotated back to the States before I ever found a satisfactory replacement. Racer Roy :D
