Buck's website problem?

I've tried three or so times today to get to the "build a custom Buck" part of Bucks site and it won't go to it. The page opens, then just hangs up. I've tried using two different browsers and the same thing happens.

Anyone else having that problem?

One more thing. When I checked it out before, there seemed to be only two kinds that could be custom ordered, a 110 and something else. Are they the only ones you can order customized?

It works great for me! I just checked it out.

Yes, right now the 110 and Alpha are the only 2 models they will "custom" build.

Now that you mention it, I wonder how many Alphas get built to the 110's?

Good luck getting it to load!

That's the only two they let you Custom order... They were doing 112s by phone only... But that over now...

OK. I got in. I switched to a different computer and bingo, I was in. I think I'm going to order the 110 in stag, since I can't get one of Cabela's. I just have to decide how I want it built.

How long does it normally take to get one after you order it?

pbd,

That depends on how many orders they have in front of you! I had the a CS at my house in 14 days from the date of the order!!! However, most of the orders will arrive to you within 6-8 weeks. Note they use UPS as their shipping sevice...that adds a minimum of 1 week to your delivery time:(.

FYI, when you finish the checkout process you can pick to have usps deliver. delivery was still free with that option too. :D

Mine were both shipped UPS last time anyway ;) LOL :D So BE CAREFUL JB! He'll still get ya in trouble!!!!!!!!!!!

It didnt matter to me though ;) they both arrived perfect!

My problem now is to decide just how I want it. It's not cheap and I really want to make choices that I'll be happy with. Otherwise, I'll just have to order another one.:D

I ordered a sheath from Buck (shipped UPS) and don't remember being given the option of USPS or UPS. I'd go with USPS every time, given a choice.

Well, back to the drawing board so to speak.

How well does the black blade finish hold up if a person actually were to use it? It might be cool looking, but I'm afraid it might scratch up if it was used at all.

I never ordered the CS 110 with a black blade, for the difference in price I prefer the better steel, not coating. BUT if its the same coating Buck used on the catapults or nighthawks, I can say it is DARN tough!

Good luck with your choices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

OK, I just did it. Since this one will be just for show and bragging about, I went with the Sambar stag, polished blade and nickle bolsters w/revits. I have one 110 Harley model and several 111's with the nickle bolsters and I really like the look. I have some 110's with the polished blades and I like them too.

They do offer USPS Priority Mail as a free option, so that's how it went. I can see now that I'll probably order another one trimmed out a little different.
