I have a NIB Buckskin model 529E1, with oyster eel inserts, that my wife got for me on a recent trip to see her mother in S.Illinois.Since these don`t have date codes on them I was wondering if they are still being made, and if not, how long did they make them?

Stomper...my 529 oyster eel has a date code stamped on it . It's the upside down V with a dot in the center. I'll try and post a pic...practice makes perfect. Preston

That`s the one, but mine has no date code and the blade is polished.

Now this is just my thought...but if yours doesn't have a date code you might have something there.

Mine also has a polished blade, even if the picture doesn't show it as such.

Joe H. wrote about date stamps in the most recent issue of the BCCI newsletter.

I'm sure that someone with alot more knowledge than me will post here and clear everything up;). Preston
