It's no secret I love me some Schrade knives. Never seen an Uncle Henry like this before. I believe it is called a buckskin and there weren't a whole lot made. Really nice knife.
Nice find! I have several of those. They weren't an intentional production item, but rather a run of samples to try out the tan Delrin color in lieu of the standard creme color. A very few of these will be found that recieved the final dye and glaze, but most remained in their undyed state. There is an "alter-ego" version which has the full dye treatment yet was never glazed. We Schrade collectors dubbed those "Blackies", since the covers appear black. The normal process was a two-step dye bath. First brown, then black. Then they were buffed (glazed) to flush out the ends with the bolsters and bring out the tri-colors of cream, brown and black, simulating stag, thus the trade name "Staglon".
It's Delrin with a neutral base color. Here is an interesting post about the Delrin dying process. I have a small Uncle Henry with chocolate brown only. I don't think they were made like this in single colors on purpose.
