I own a BuckSkin A1 since some years. But today I saw that the knife
has a steel frame and not the brass frame that is always used for the
Treasury and the BuckSkin folder. Does anybody knows more? I couln't find
anything about the 527/529 stainless steel frame.

Many thanks for any answer.

Best,
Haebbie

Habbie, Thinking back I saw a few of those in 2008 at the 20yr. Reunion with different handle materials and I discussed them with who ever had them on his table and I have seen them with the brass frame like you mention . However, I've always thought those knives had the same frame as the 505 Knight which was stainless steel from its introduction in 1979 . DM

Thanks, David, for your answer.

Yes, I bought some of the small ones at the 20th reunion, especially the 527 Treasury. Joe had a lot of them on his talble. But they all have a brass frame. There was no steel
frame at all.

The 505 has a stainless steel frame too, but it is completely different to the 527/529 frame. Only the blades are the same.

I'm curious what the background for the steely 529 is.

Haebbie

Habbie, ok . Some very nice and hard to find 505's you show there . DM

Thanks, David, Especially the last one, the customized one - I forgot who made it.
I wrote him a mail but he didn't answer. But it looks great and the pearl is natural.

I have a set of these from '88 and they have brass bodys, I just looked in the '89 cat. and they were listed with NS bodies. They made these for a few years and I think they used both. The skins changed from year to year as well. I have a Buck skin in its org. package sold with a leather wallet with matching skin on the wallet.

My fault. I only had a look at the pictures and the frames look like
brass. One year later there's no word about the material in the description.
I have the wallet knife combo too. That looks great! But I can't use it ...

Well in '88 they were brass an other years as well, they just used NS in '89 and possibably other years. I haven't researched any more than the '88 and '89 catalogs.
