Picked up a Bucktool 360CM today (camo version). I believe Buck started making the 360 in 1996. Can anyone confirm this date as well as when production ended? Also anyone know what year or years the 360CM was offered? My computer is not letting me download the catalogs on the BCCI site for some reason other wise I'd try looking through those to try and find the answer to my questions. TIA
The BuckTool came out in 1996 and was discontinued in 2001. The 360CM BuckTool came out in 2000. This the only year it appears in the Buck Catalog. The 360CM is the same as the standard 360 for 2000, it contains a lanyard loop instead of the large phillips screwdriver as stated in the catalog. The rest of the implements are the same. How ever as with most Buck models there are some that do not follow the rules. I have a 360CM with the large Phillips and no lanyard loop.
I should have asked did you get a box and sheath with it? The 360CM is one of the rare models, how ever I do not know any production numbers for this model.
Thanks. Got the box and paperwork but not the sheath. It was in the display case at an old gun shop. The found the box in the back of the case but I forgot to check it to see if the sheath was in it. When they were looking for the box I saw scores of sheaths and boxes in the bottom of the display. I bought all the NOS Bucks they had except one so all the boxes and sheaths have no knife to go with them. I'm sure the sheath for my 360 is there. I'm returning Monday to get it as well as try and make a deal for the other stuff.
If they sold the knives without the boxes I don't see what value they would have to the store? They are no longer a Buck dealer and the none of the items I bought today was newer than 2000. I saw several brand new, 100 series flap sheaths as well as 110 leather sheaths and others. The boxes looked to cover quite a time span too. The only Buck I left was another 360CM so everything left is an orphan.
P.S. I just checked and mine does not have the lanyard loop. It has the large Phillips bit instead.
