How are yall doing? I'm doing okay....BUT the other night I was on a patrol and my MK-19 automatic grenade launcher went down. One of the rounds had jammed on the round block right in the middle of a damn gun fight. And when I told my gunner to use my bucktool he was trying with all of his might to get that damn round out. And then it happened, my damn unbreakable bucktool actually broke. Right at the part were the pliers split and turn into the handle portion. Now, yes we finally did get the gun up and operational, but I'm still very disappointed. I have had this bucktool for two deployments one to Afghanistan in July 2002-December 2002 and then Iraq January 2004-until 12 November 2004. Gosh this really disappointed me. I look at my bucktool as a good luck piece. Anyways I was wondering if any of you buck guys can lead me in the right direction in how I can just get another bucktool. I looked on the site and there were no bucktools. You think I can send my bucktool back and get it fixed? Thanks for the help.

Man, joshuaworks, I don't think you can expect Buck to cover this sort of frivolous misuse! ;) In all seriousness, damn glad to hear everything turned out ok (regarding your hide, if not your Bucktool). I'm confident the folks at Buck will do you right. Thanks so much for your service, buddy. Take care of yourself.

Joshua, First...thanks for your service. Glad to hear all went well with the exception of your Buck tool. I'm sure a moderator will see your post and advise you regarding a replacement. Take care.

I have 3. If you can't find one just give the word and I will send you one.

My son in law is in Taji with the 1st Air Cav and I have a nephew in Fallujah with the Marines.

I missed that "immediate action drill" in my machine gun employment course ;)

Glad you got the weapon up and running. Send it back, we may still have some for warranty. Shoot me an email.

Josh

Taji is right down the road, and falluhja is too. Been to all of them. Tell them to be safe...I'm leaving in like 56 days. THANKS for the support! I have already sent a email to the buck guys. Talk to you later

Sitting here and thought of my Bucktool. I often wonder where it is now.
I've got the blues...

BTW, I hope Sgt Works is doing well. With My Thanks and Respect...
Goose.

Sgt. Works,

I am not having anything to do with you. Fix your Buck yourself!

Unless of course you let me shoot the MK 19. :D

Seriously, be careful over there. There are fine people on these forums that can point you in the right direction.

Any pics of the MK 19? :D

I don't even know what a Buck tool is..... or what they cost...

But if any one has an extra one laying around and can send it to Sgt Joshua immediately,
I'll be glad to pay you for it, within reason of course. SERIOUSLY!!!!!

Since his post is from 11-16-2004, I'm hoping that SGT Works has been home and safe for awhile. I hope that Josh Rummerfield is back at Post Falls, ID, too, instead of cleaning sand from his weapon!

Pack Rat, here's a Bucktool Evaluation.

Woah.... Thanks Geo,,,,, I totally missed the date/time stamp..... Goose must be reminiscing and going through the archives :).....

or the Bushmills has me a bit fuzzy..... :D

GOOSE!!!! need something to do? Go read those Jokes I sent ya via emal... :D :D

And thanks Geo on the link..... That baby blows away my Gerber... ebay here I come... Unless one of you guys have one for sale or trade.

And, I guess I missed where Rummerfield was being deployed...... Yes, I hope he is back and safe, or has a pocket full of Buck equiptment with him.

I guess this hit me because my son in law, a Blackhawk pilot was recently called up after being out for 4.5 years. Fortunately something went down on that callup, and he was offered an option. He could report as ordered, or resign his comission and not go. Due to a problematic autistic son, he opted to resign his comission and stay home and be with his son. This hit him pretty hard because he was rated tops as a helo pilot and knew he could contribute. But also knew his son needed him more.

I gotta look at those post times mo betta :)

Unfortunately, that Bucktool evaluation was from back in 1999. It's been discontinued, and it's apparently tough to find them (like finding the cash to buy one, if you find it....).

Josh Rummerfield's story is a lot like your son-in-law's. He mentioned that he was recalled to service in this thread, from 08-24-2005. I don't know, for certain, the current tour of duty that the Marines are requesting, but I think it's about a year. I'm kind of hoping that someone at Buck has heard from him. Then again, his e-mail address is listed in the post, above: joshr@buckknives.com I think I'll e-mail him.

Please thank your son-in-law for his courageous, selfless, and heroic service to our country, and for his son, your grandson, I'm assuming. It sounds like he's a great and very dedicated son-in-law.

Thanks for the kind sentiments Geo!!! Son in law is a super guy. Served in the first Gulf war. The proverbal Army poster boy. We think a lot of him. And the other one as well!
Served in the reserves prior to all this Iraqui mess, and went on to become a deputy sheriff.

So I am more than willing to try and help where and when I can.

Let us know here if you find anything about about Josh Rummerfield!

Thanks!

...Neither one of them has posted since then... :(

Hoping for the best...
Those guys are putting everything on the line for us, over there, so, we've got to support them all that we can. I'm feeling pretty positive that Sgt. Works has made it back because I couldn't find his name on the casualty list. I'm trying to send him an e-mail, too, to see how he's doing, and if he ever got that Bucktool.

I'll let you guys know what I hear. Maybe Sgt. Works can come back to BladeForums, and join this thread again. :)

There is a thread down the page aways called Buck Tales.

Sgt Work might just have a contribution at some point... We hope!

Good Link Geo!

Good info on their postings Trax!

Yeah ChickenTrax I was doing a search for BuckTool as I was wondering where mine is. Just used once in awhile, so I guess that makes it a "Vintage" AND "Nearly Mint" LOL.

Did notice that Sgt Works hadn't posted anything for about 2 years and am hoping he is well wherever he may be. (My fiance's son is going to Korea this coming week for a year. Glad they don't have oil over there!)

The BuckTool was when every mfg seemed to have a multi-tool. I bought it for the fact that the tools were inside as compared to being on the outside when the plier function was engaged, the locking mech, ahd, of course, the Buck name. It was cool and the only thing I didn't like was the swivel gig when using the pliers...if they has some way to lock that in place it would have been perfect.

Looking for an electric fence and wishing you all a MARVelous Day!

Goose.
