You may want to remove the link from your post, as this is considered "deal spotting" and is not allowed on this forum unless the link is to a paid dealer site. A mod will probably ask you to remove the link or remove it for you. The rule was part of what you agreed to when you signed up to Blade Forums. Not my rule, but one we all must abide by.

Blessings,

Omar

What is it? A sharpening stone? One things for sure, BudK didn't make it themselves. If it's a regular SiC stone or similar it's probably fine.

I *think* you can post the image, just not the link. That would help a lot.

avoiding budk is always a good idea. Even if the stone is not awful, the catalogs and spam you will get forever are.

I actually like the catalogs for two reasons. They give me a good chuckle and I use the paper for stuffing in shipping knife trades.

While their knives are crap they do stock a few things that are okay. Actual military survival guides (if you're into that kind of thing), paracord, gas masks for decoration, again if you're into that kind of stuff. Some people like stuff like that and don't have a surplus store near by.

For about $20 you can have a quality Norton stone delivered to your door step...

Very good point.

Or for $6 bucks (actually I think it's a few cents less after tax) you can pick up a 6" SiC Norton "economy" stone at Home Depot. Only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't come pre-oiled. Oh and mine isn't perfectly flat, but both of those things are easily fixed.

I recently picked up a 4" sharpening stone at a local Ace Hardware store, for about $4-$5 or so. I know HeavyHanded had mentioned their stones before, so I was curious to see what they looked like. They have the 4" stone, and two versions of a 6" stone (one is taller/thicker). Maybe an 8", but I don't remember. These stones look like twins/siblings to the Norton Economy stone, and in the case of the example I bought, perform identically as well. I'd have to assume they're SiC, and I still wouldn't be surprised if they were produced in the same factory, albeit branded/packaged for Ace (no labelling on the stone itself, as there is with the Norton equivalent). Whatever the case, they look like solid and inexpensive options as well.

I would definitely stay away from them. Will never order anything from them again. Most awful customer service ive ever had to deal with besides sprint.

I bought the tri - stone contraption from Harbor Freight. I was shocked that it actually worked well.
I'd wait until BK sends you the .01 penny shipping e mail! LOL!
