First an intro, as this is my first thread.

Older knife user/collector. I have lurked on here for about twenty years, on and off. I definitely had an account for a while ages ago, but still lurked, and have now rejoined. And I’m from the U.K. So go easy on me?

I recently acquired a Nealy Pesh Kabz. It is made from the Meier laminated san-mai-type “Damascus”, so may be a bit special.

It came with a rectangular polymer sheath (suitable for neck use with a chain) and a polymer belt loop mounting that can attach to the sheath that I think is designed for (rather uncomfortable) horizontal carry and can be adapted for upside-down belt carry. But I’m conscious that the Nealy MCS (IIRC, Multi-Carry System?) had further options and additional bits, including IWB and pocket options.

Does anyone know where I can find the rest of the system? Bud’s website appears defunct. Has he retired? Or worse?

For the younger readers, the Pesh Kabz was quite influential in its (I think) early 1980s day, before the rise of the “tactical folder”. A small, light, flat fixed blade of roughly Persian style with a reinforced point ahead of a relieved and sharp cutting edge. Marketed as a discreet carry item for Secret Service, plain clothes cops, etc types.

I have no practical and legal use for it beyond collecting and historical interest. But that could be said for much of my collection. I’d just like to get the missing bits.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mid-late 90s, I believe. IIRC, Boker had a Nealy model with the MCS system. They might still have parts in NOS condition....

justjed: you may be right on the dates, and my memory playing tricks.

For what it’s worth, mine appears to be (I need a magnifier!) serial number 3231.

Pretty sure it was late 90s. I haven't seen one in several years, never owned one. Mr Nealy tried very hard to sell me one of his customs once, but it wasn't in the budget at the time.
Nicely made knives, tho, and as I recall, he was a pleasant man to talk to.

Good luck in your search.

I had a Damascus & G10 version in the mid-late nineties and the only other mounting feature I can recall was a kydex attachment that allowed for inverted breast pocket carry inside a jacket (at least that’s how I used it.)

The answer about which pieces you're missing varies, as the makeup of the MCS changed over the years.

Here is an early setup from the 1990s.

Missing from the above photo (because it's buried in a different box somewhere) is the screw-on, in-the-waistband loop shown in this photo.

The MCS of roughly five years ago looked like this.

But Bud Nealy was a very courteous custom maker who would respond to special requests from customers. I believe the MCS components in this photo are all original (even if the hardware isn't). I can't even identify the intended function of the outlier pieces here, so clearly someone asked Bud for some specialized add-ons.

Since your knife has the Meier Damascus blade, it's very likely an early piece and your MCS should contain the items in the first and second photos. As for finding those, I have little to offer. I doubt that Bud has anything left of his early MCS offerings, though it can't hurt to ask if you're able to contact him.

P.S. - I'd love to see pictures of your Pesh Kabz, please.

Thanks. So I have the bit on the left in your first picture.

I’d happily post a picture, but can’t work out how to do that.

Welcome to the zoo.
I have several Pesh Kabz and two in the Meier damascus. The accessories sometimes come up on eBay ( rare earth magnets!) and you could do a WTB here I think these are some of he best secure concealed carry knives around . I have no idea what the resale values are but they are great little knives.
