Bud Nealy

I wanted to buy a Nealy kozuka. After three attempts at contacting him, he never got back to me, so I bought a Busse. Good luck.

 that's too bad, I have emailed him a few times, always got prompt replies. Did you try calling?

Resinguy---I did, and his wife told me he'd call me back. He didn't. Oh, well.

gee, you have A LOT of questions!

What Hans means, in his abbreviated style, is that, generally in BladeForums Customs subforum, we welcome a little introduction about yourself and maybe some idea as to how you are approaching collecting or thinking about collecting custom knives.

That said, I found Bud's knives to be of excellent quality, well thought out carrying systems...and Bud's communication skills themselves are not excellent...frankly, they sucked pretty bad....I had to call, e-mail and beat drums in order to firm up details with knives in process, and get a sheath made for one that I had already paid-in-full for.

But it did show up, and it is top qualityknife....he is really in a class by himself for small, concealable knives with multi positional sheaths.

Best Regards,

Any comments from those who own?

Really liked the knives I had of his, I went off in another direction in my taste, only reason I got rid of mine. Could care less about the carry options, give me a tek lok and a kydex sheath. One of his smaller EDC models had a really nice leather sheath. SUPER sharp!

I'm not sure if I can post an image.. But here is one of my first big purchases from Bud. Bought this at a Las Vegas Show back in the 90's.

It's a very nice, thin profile Hand Made Extended Aikuchi with Robert Eggerling Mosiac Damascus bolsters, Daryl Meier Damascus Blade, and first generation carbon fiber handle scales. Daryl Meier makes pattern welded steel in Carbondale Illinois, where I went to College in the 90's but never knew of Mr. Meier. I would have loved to have met him.
