I know I've read of them before, and I think I've asked this before too.

Anyone have any pictures of Buddhist Prayer wheels? Especially wind or water driven ones?

I need some that are good enough that I can "copy" them in wood.

A Google search on "Prayer Wheel" turns up lots of hits and pictures.

Thank you,

I found This which is not quite what I wanted, but I'll figure something out. Guess I'll call it my summer project :)

Dear Yvsa,

Please check paypal account for $5 to ban Bruise...

Yvsa likes Bruise...it will cost you at least $20

.

I made my Buddhist prayer wheel with my harddisk of my pc. The Dalai Lama gave me the idea. If you put the Sanskriet text in a word document and save it on your harddisk it will work as good as any other prayer wheel. You could also use an animated gif as a prayer wheel, and use it as your wallpaper.

Yojimbo-girl: I thought you were joking. But dharma haven.org has instructions on how to do just that. They also have animated GIF's and other stuff.

Yojimbo-Girl,

I've not made your aquaintence and would like to welcome you to HI forum where the crazies have their lunch. You'll find good people and most things Khukurish.

btw, who is Jimbo?

Yojimbo is a movie, too. (It's Japanese for "bodyguard".)

The movie is a great Kirosawa film, remade as "A Fistful of Dollars."

That's some fine cinema.

I like the villain waving around that little revolver around. :D
... and the mob fight scene was funny too.

Wow! Let's say the HD spinns at 10,000 rpm. If you write your mantra in Word and use copy and paste to duplicate it so you have 6,000 copies of the mantra in your document. Then you'll have a prayer rate of 1,000,000 mps, or 1Mmps. (1 Megamantra/second)

At that rate you'll quickly surpass the merit of the devout still spinning their prayer wheels by hand. No wonder Vajrayana is called the short path.

;)

Well i try to be a Buddhist, and have those gifs and the sanskrit text spinning around for a few weeks now. Was not a joke! :D

I am more into Mahayana, beeing good to other people also raises my karma, i don't feel the need to be solely enlighted in the next lifetime. I just wanna help as much as i can now, and maybe it will increase my Karma.
