I lost a small SAK that I kept loose in the same pocket with my keys.
It fell out when I pulled my keys out of my pocket and I wasn't aware.

Now I have my SAK attached to my key chain, like it's supposed to be,
and my other edc knives have clips.

I do one other thing that some people may not have thought to do.
I use a label maker to make labels, with my telephone number only,
in small print, about 8 point. I put the labels on the handles wherever they will
fit and not get rubbed off easily. If I lose another knife, at least there is a chance
that a good samaritan will call me to return it.

good ideas holymolar ,

sorry for your loss .

mine was pocket clipped in , just lucky it was one of my cheaper knives i guess .

great knife .

I've learned to look any time it sounds like something hits the ground. It is almost always something I have dropped.

I've only lost 2 knives. One a kershaw blackout(?) That I lost when drunk and I'm pretty sure it ended up in the girls room where I woke up. The other a S90V Para 2 that defied gravity and went up and over the side of my boat this summer.

It always stinks to lose something.

your tale just reminded me ..i lost a sog powerlock multi tool one time when i was super drunk pretty sure that was in the
mens washroom ...memory is veryy fuzzy though .
Hope this thread has helped you find some closure .

I once lost a finger grooved Buck 110 that I had been carrying everyday for 10 or 12 years. I was just sick over loosing it and tho it has been a few years I still really miss it. I really have no idea where I lost it. It just wasn't in my back pocket when I reached for it.

Buck vantage pro: Clipped IWB at 6 o'clock while playing paintball. Stupid, stupid, stupid, i know. Around the 3rd game i reached back and to my chagrin realized it wasn't there.
Benchmade vex: Carried it in the same manner as the vantage pro (you don't have to say it). Clipped it back there and when i went to reach for it it was gone.
Leatherman wave: I simply lost it. i don't know wtf happened to it.
Leatherman skeletool (2x) The first one i lost when it was clipped to a thigh pocket and fell out when i was running. I was unhooking a Pike ( I didn't have a net and so was unhooking it over the water, yes, im stupid. We have established that) with the second one, and when it thrashed upwards reflectively jerked my hand back and dropped the leatherman.

Igve lost quite a few friends but at least i have established how not to carry a knife.
