Budget Bowies- 3 from Bud K

First knife (didn't watch the entire video) is full tang, hardwood handle. It's most likely made of 420j2 steel.

It's probably usable. 420 doesn't hold an edge well, is tough and all but rust proof, but will resharpen easily. For the price you might as well try one out, beat it up on some wood and come back and report.

Yes, I did so. Then I made the video.

yes they are all useless.

You would be better off with the cheaper than dirt bowie.

CTD bowie? Which one? I stopped receving those catalogs ages ago.

The "hockey mask" guys tested one some time back. It was very inexpensive, and some unknown stainless steel. Their test proved it to be very tough. I was surprised that any stainless steel would stand up to their testing that well but it did. I might guess that it was relatively low hardness but I don't recall how well it kept its edge.

The Mtech bowie that looks like a Trail Master is extremely tough and heavy use. It is one heavy duty knife for $20. There are reviews on them.
