hi,

My wife seems to only like flippers that does not have a frame/liner locks. She says putting her fingers under the blade while closing feels dangerous.

So her favorite knife that i have is the knife that I dislike the most; SOG twitch XL (assisted flipper; back lock). I dont like assisted or backlocks.

So i want to get her something that is:
- $30 to $70
- non-asssited flipper
- button lock types that is easy for non knife person to release with one hand.

I am getting the CRKT Tighe Tac Two because it fits all. But if anyone has suggestions I would appreciate it!

Thanks

You only looking for button locks (which I love) or other easy-to-operate locks too?

Other easy to operate locks for a female with tiny hands, with one hand... would be great too!

I only know of button locks and axis lock types

I think you will like the crkt Tighe you are getting.

I had the custom version and the crkt flipped much better and was actually finished better if you can believe that...

the BUCK marksman fits the bill function wise but I believe it's in the $80-$90 range.

I doubt someone who doesn't like putting their fingers in the blade path when closing it will feel any safer with the finger guillotine that is the Marksman; if not flipped with authority the blade has a disturbing tendency to bounce back with speed (the knife has the most free-swinging blade I've ever owned).

Does anyone have any other knives in mind?

Other than the Crkt Tighe Tac Two, im recommended Buck Marksman. But after seeing how it works, i do not think my wife will like it.

If anyone else has any other recommendations, i would appreciate your insight or advice.

Thanks!

Does she not like slip joints? I would have a look at the spyderco ukpk. Super simple and no fingers near the edge when closing.

I can't really think of any besides the ones already mentioned in that price point.

They tend to be expensive, around the $200 range.

Hogue has a nice one, but it isn't cheap.

It's not a flipper, but the Real Steel E775 Griffin is a very nice button lock folder with a bearing pivot right in your price range. I like mine a lot and highly recommend it.
