A very good friend of mine had me make him a knife last year. He’s on disability, so funds are tight. I asked him his budget, and he said $200.00. I covered costs and built him a knife. He was thrilled, and so was his closest friend, so Bruce asked me to make a copy for Mitch, due October 5th, 2017, for Mitch’s birthday. This is what I did:

We have known each other for decades, growing up around the cabin in the woods. The steel is salvaged from a grader blade that was repurposed as a water runoff guide. It’s probably 1090 or so from my testing. Bruce is enbedded in our minds, as he hit a tree on my dirt bike on my brother’s stag weekend. We thought he was going to die. Since then, we have called all dumbass mistakes “pulling a Bruce.”
An interesting side note is that Bruce went to high school with my wife, but neither ever knew each other even though they knew a lot of the same people. Small world.
