Cheers for that Ben!

The top one is the pre 1820 Budhume, The lower one is the Ivory Dai Chirra,It Appears to be a mid to late 19th century blade althought it has a threaded tang & was carried in Burma during WW2.

Cheers!

Spiral what are the specs on this one? Length, belly, thickness and thickness of the bottom of the fullers?
Also the thickness where the top of the edge begins would be nice, as well as the weight.:D
That is a most beautiful kukri regardless whether it is Damascus and ivory handled or not!!!!:D :cool: :D :cool: :D

Ok here we go, all measurments are in metric as thats what my calipers are in!
I can work in imperial or metric but I am no good at conversians! any mathmaticians out there?!

spine at cho.......
spine at shoulder......
spine at belly.........

mid peak hieght..... {all measured at mid belly point}
top fuller vally......
bottom fuller vally....
top of sharp edge....

This kukri is rather unusual as the blade appears Nepali, but the handle Indian & the tang fixture European, although the nut is handmade!
So It may be a lovely old blade re.handled with a Indian custom made ivory handle at the turn of the century by a regimental kami.{the bolster is steel #& the pommel silver.}

It was in use throughout WW2, carried by a Gurkha officer attached to the Chindits, but where it came from before that ,I have no idea.

Although weighing. it feels like a powerfull chopper that welds into my hand,& makes me want to howl at the moon!
It must have some interesting history to it!

Thanks Spiral!!!!:D
I would appreciate two more. The width or heighth of the blade at the front edge of the cho to the top of the spine and from the bottom of the cho to the top of the spine.
Between the measurements on this one and by reducing the Foxy Folly about 18% I may come up with a workable model and dimensions for a 17"-18" FF.:D

Thats cool Yvsa!
It would be nice to think its design, is used in the futre, Its probably the highest quality blade ,I have aquired so far.

Width immediatly in front of cho
width at bottom of cho..........

I will e mail you some photos of it later, so you can see it with greater clarity.
I notice the top photo that Beo was good enough to post, showing the 2 kukris toghether has vanished! Ill try to post it again using the visible code.
