In my opinion an 8" blade with a 5" handle makes for excellent proportions. This shows in this knife. It does look incredibly well balanced and beautifully made, as always.

thanks guys for the kind words.....when I used the word "usual" I was referring to the dimensions, I seem to have settled in to 8" blade being my favorite....
