I was in the big gun store we have here in Colorado Springs today and they had a Chip Flint Buffalo M124. The only two things I did not like was 1. Price (Man the gun store was way high) and 2. It was not full tang, it was the hidden under the phenolic handle type of tang, so I guess it is a partial tang.

I have not seen this knife on the Buck Website, I guess my question is, when did Buck make this model 124?

Rick, Buck produced a 124 as you describe in 2007 that had a nickel silver horse inlayed in the handle. The handle was water buffalo horn and was more the size and design of the 119/120 rather than being the full tang like the original.

I take it you were in Specialty Sports?

Buck has been making the Buff chippy's for a few years now. The last one they put out was the 121 and this year the 116.

Here are a few of them (need to do a new family photo)

Ok! I thought the handle was phenolic but I did not look at it in hand just from the glass case, that would explain some of the very high price on it!
