A friend of mine had this broken woven gold necklace and wanted it worked into a knife. I took the gold and dunked it in molten silver solder then wiped it with steel wool. Then I turned some brass disks the same width as the gold and then coated the outside edges of the disk with silver solder and then ran a bolt thru each disk with a stainless washer on each side to keep the correct length of the silver soldered gold lined up and worked it around the disk and held it tight in place with a wrap of stainless wire. Then heated it up and fused the gold to the disks. Sanded each to expose the gold then into some ferric chloride until the pattern of the necklace showed up well. Then used them and some more stainless washers as spacers in this dagger and fluted some buffalo horn as the main handle piece.
