I had a knife made with Buffalo horn ...I know its not an easy material to work with,
it came out with some of these swirling scratches.

I don't hate it.... but I would've liked it to look better...am I being too fussy ?

Is there any suggestions on how I can modify it a little myself or just leave it alone ?

Can't add any pics I only have basic membership...I can email anybody who would like to take a look trebordig@aol.com

Thanks Rob

Based on the scuffs on the pins I think you can still do a lot better. I would clamp the blade and do some shoeshine action on the handle starting at 600 grit and going up to at least 2000. Maybe finish with 3M polishing 4000 grit pink.

When y’all say “Buffalo Horn,” are we actually talking about? I’ve been confused about what this is and where to buy it.
I tried to find some for making Wa handles and I’ve seen synthetic stuff listed as Buffalo Horn but I’ve also seen what looks to be actually horns.
Help?

looks pretty good. try doing the alternating 45 degree angle sanding like we do on blades, until you are sure the previous scratches are gone from the handle and pins before moving up in grit. i do that one every handle.
