I took a busman's holiday after a 60 hour week playing catchup with leather orders and got the first half of this CactusRose pair finished - It's the "sticker" half of an 1850's style buffalo hunter's skinning set. The skinner blade shown at the bottom will be the other half of the set. The blade steel is something quite a bit different than Gib's standard 5160.......
To add a little extra to this "in the works" report here's a bit of the pre-planning I do for my part of the process. The knives will have a common sheath when done similar to the sketch below. Nothing is ever written in stone though
- most of my work only ever has a passing resemblance to the ideas I sketch.
